Just Say Goodbye

Let’s just say goodbye to 2025. I think most of you can agree 2025 was a struggle year whether in our personal lives, work or both.

In Chinese zodiac it was the year of the snake which means transformation and re-newel. Shedding of the old and new beginnings.

What I do know is, it was a lot about betrayal, struggles, tears, heartache, confusion and trust issues. A lot of self reflecting, judging the quality of the people that surrounded me and realizing who ‘my people’ really were.

The evil that is in this world became more evident to me this year as it surrounded me personally. The lengths people would go to tear someone down they didn’t like, and choosing to live in entitled, selfish, miserable loving mindset. Seriously, I think everyone needs to find GOD.

Even in the world in general there is so much evil, destruction and fighting. We have New Year’s festivities being cancelled around the world due to threats. We have constant war in Middle East. We have the hidden secret evil world of Hollywood coming out showing us true character of those celebrities many of us loved listening to or watching in film.

2025 seemed to highlight all the evil and bad happening in our world and has filtered down to our personal lives. If you had a great 2025 then congratulations because you are definitely the minority.

So as 2025 draws to a close I will respect the lessons I learned. I will appreciate the people I learned I can trust. I will value the friendships that grew stronger during the struggles. I will be exiting 2025 emotionally stronger, more faith driven, more ready for whatever the future wants to throw at me.

Protecting My Energy

One thing I will do is protect my energy in 2026.

Recognize What Drains You:

  • People who only talk about themselves

  • Situations that make you feel lonely

  • Conversations that leave you to replay them over and over again in your mind

Ask yourself: “Does this cost me more than it gives?”

Create Boundaries:

  • Be brave enough to step away from situations that drain you

  • Limit time with people who drain you

  • Say no without feeling guilty

  • Leave jobs/situations that drain you

Guard Your Mind:

  • Be mindful of what you watch and how much screen time you allow yourself

  • When watching something ask yourself if it is improving your life or just a time waster. Is it helping you grow as a person

Release What Isn’t Yours

  • Other people’s choices are not for you to worry about

  • Other people’s moods do not need to affect yours

Protecting your energy does not make you cold, difficult, or unloving. It makes you available for real connection and keeps your inner light protected.

So choose things in your life that refill your mindset and spirit. It could be visiting your favourite cafe the same time and day every week. Your nightly walk in nature; reading pages from your favourite author; basking in the sunlight as it sets. Self-reflect in what makes you feel alive, feel good and loving life and do more of that!

Everything doesn’t have to be a struggle or fight. Sometimes the best way to protect your peace and preserve your energy is not engage. Standing in your power will become easier when you realize that you’re in charge of who and what gets access to you.

May 2026 bring your more of what makes you happy, protects your light and spirit and be more about the ‘good’ of what this world has to offer.
