How to elevate your everyday
“ The things that kept you comfortable no longer serve a purpose in your life. Now it’s time to adopt new habits that are going to elevate you higher. - Ash Alves”
Savor your mornings
Slow mornings for me are my favorite. Brew a great cup of espresso, drink it on my balcony enjoying the garden view. I truly love when I have a day off or on vacation because these slow mornings are easier to achieve. Here is the thing…if you can wake up even a half hour earlier it will let you to start your day relaxed rather than rushing around trying not to be late running out the door. Let that half hour be about you and you only.
Pamper yourself
Whether you have somewhere to go or not get yourself put together like you do. Take a shower or bubble bath. Do those face masks and scrubs that make you feel like you are at a luxury spa. Invest in a plush bathrobe. Make yourself feel like a million bucks. Get dressed up for yourself. A great outfit can build your confidence.
Practice gratitude
Practicing gratitude especially in the mornings can help you start your day in a positive mindset. Also when you start a gratitude journal it will change how you look at things throughout your day. You will be on the look out for things you will be able to write in your journal that you are grateful for. You will look for the good in everyday whether you intentionally do so or not.
Read daily
Learn one new thing daily. They do say the most successful people read everyday. It helps improve memory, reduces stress, expands your vocabulary, and reduce signs of depression. Let your mind explore new worlds through fiction novels, build your confidence by reading books that motivate you. The choice is yours. Dedicate even 15 minutes everyday to reading.
Move
Ensure you move daily. Take a morning walk, practice yoga in your living room, or hit the gym before your workday begins. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, park further away and walk. You can even throw a solo dance party in the kitchen! I remember doing these dance parties with my son in the kitchen when he was little. He absolutely loved it and great memories were made!
Lean into your faith
No matter your religion lean into your faith and pray daily. Read a bible verse daily, practice meditation, or do your affirmations daily. Avoid temptation and surround yourself with people that make you better and not bring you down.
Be Creative
Being creative everyday can help you develop your brain, reduce stress and give you the goodness feeling all over. Learn to paint even if it is paint by numbers. Start journaling whether it is writing about your day or creative short stories you make up. Be creative about being creative and do not limit yourself. Even if it is visiting your local museum to appreciate art others have created. Being creative helps your day to day not be the same old boring routine and adds some spice in your life.
Live each and everyday intentionally. Time seems to be moving faster and faster and a whole week, month can go by and all you did was wake up, go to work or school then sit on the couch watching TV all night until bed and do it all over again. Don’t let yourself fall into that trap. Life is about living and making the most of everyday!
