The 3 Bite Rule

Let’s face it…most diets and eating plans fail because they restrict you from eating foods you crave and especially restrict you from desserts. I am not saying to go stuff your face with these decant creations but rather take a different approach to satisfy your cravings and avoid eating everything else in your fridge but the one thing you are craving.

Have you ever heard of the 3 Bite Rule?

The 3 bite rule is an eating strategy where you allow yourself three bites of the food you are craving and in this case the dessert you are craving. If you follow the three bite rule you can still enjoy the food you love and avoid overindulging in it. It is about mindful eating.

The breakdown of the 3 bite rule:

  • First Bite: You get the initial euphoric first bite sweetness as food hits your taste buds

  • Second Bite: Savor the flavors and enjoy the experience

  • Third Bite: Reflect on the taste and often the pleasure diminishes by this point and you have satisfied your craving.
